Great issue that evokes the dystopian tone of our times. The first two items got me thinking about the paradox of ethical tech. I reckon both of those groups (certn and CSA) believe that they're being ethical, and doing the right thing, and that their technology is an example of ethical (AI). Without any regulated standards, it's all subjective. That CSA still thinks data can be anonymized illustrates this. :P
Yes I love that you picked up on that, too - for sure both actors feel/act "responsible," guarding data, providing assurances on automation - totally subjective. Plus, background checks happen "anyway," why not improve them/use more data/make them happen faster? Part of me is so intrigued by how comprehensive that can be and the other part is very uncomfortable.
